Day Nineteen Recap Of The 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs

We are now nineteen days into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There was one game yesterday. In the Eastern Conference the the Carolina Hurricanes played the New Jersey Devils. There is only one game today as well. The Vegas Golden Knights will take on the Edmonton Oilers for their second game of the series.

Coming into game two of the Carolina Hurricanes and New Jersey Devils series the Hurricanes lead the series 1-0. The Hurricanes won game one 5-1. Game two started off with a scoreless first period. The score was 0-0 after the first period.

Jesperi Kotaniemi scored early in the second period. His powerplay goal gave the Hurricanes the lead. About two minutes later he scored again. Jordan Staal then scored for the Hurricanes. Martin Nnecas scored late in the period for the Hurricanes. The score after the the second period was 4-0 Hurricanes.

Miles wood scored to get the Devils on the scoreboard. Jordan Martinook then scored for the Hurricanes. Under a minute later Stefan Noesen scored another goal for the Hurricanes. The final score was 6-1 Hurricanes. The Carolina Hurricanes now have a 2-0 series lead oveer the New Jersey Devils.

For the second game in a row New Jersey didn’t show up. They did nothing on offense. They did nothing to stop Carolina from scoring. Carolina is dominating this series. Right now a sweep by Carolina looks inevitable. Will the Hurricanes continue to dominate? Will the Devils show up for game three?

Game three will be on Sunday, May 7th 2023. Puck drop is set for 12:30pm PST.

Game two of the Vegas Golden Knights and Edmonton Oilers series is at 3:30pm PST today. The Vegas Golden Knights lead the series 1-0 after winning the first game 1-4. Can the Golden Knights maintain the kind of scoring they had in game one? What will the Oilers response be in game two?

The Vegas Golden Knights, Carolina Hurricanes, Dallas Stars, Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, Seattle Kraken, and New Jersey Devils have advanced to round two. The Winnipeg Jets, New York Islanders, Minnesota Wild, Tampa Bay Lightning, Los Angeles Kings, Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche, and New York Rangers have been eliminated.

The Vegas Golden Knights will play the Edmonton Oilers in round two. The Carolina Hurricanes will play the New Jersey Devils in round two. The Dallas Stars will play the Seattle Kraken in round two. The Toronto Maple Leafs will play the Florida Panthers in round two.
