Day Twenty Three Recap Of The 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs

We are now twenty three days into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There was two games yesterday. In the Eastern Conference the Carolina Hurricanes play the New Jersey Devils. In the Western Conference the Dallas Stars play the Seattle Kraken. There are another two games today. In the Eastern Conference the Florida Panthers have the chance to eliminate the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the Western Conference its game four of the Vegas Golden Knights and Edmonton Oilers.

Coming into game four of the Carolina Hurricanes and New Jersey Devils series the Hurricanes had a 2-1 series lead. The Hurricanes won game one 5-1 and game two 6-1. The Devils won game three 8-4. Every game in this series up to game three has been a blow out. The Devils scored first in game four with an early goal from Jack Hughes. Martin Necas tied the game with a goal for the Hurricanes. After the first period the score was tied at 1-1.

Martin Necas scored again to put the Hurricanes on top. Brett Pesce scored for the Hurricanes. Jesper Fast scored for the Hurricanes. Brent Burns scored for the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes scored four goals within six minutes to gain a huge lead over the Devils. Joran Martinook also scored late in the period to further add to the blowout. The score was 6-1 Hurricanes going into the third period.

Neither team scored in the third period. The final score was 6-1 Hurricanes. The Carolina Hurricanes now have a 3-1 series lead over the New Jersey Devils. The Hurricanes now have the chance to eliminate the Devils in game five.

This is the third game in this series where the Hurricanes kept the Devils to just a single goal. The Hurricanes have scored four or more goals in every game of this series. This was another blowout. Now every game in this series so far has been a blowout. Four goals in under six minutes is very impressive. It’s a great way to take over a hockey game. Will game five be another blowout? Will the Hurricanes close out the series? Will the Devils force a game six?

Going into game four of the Dallas stars and Seattle Kraken series, the Kraken were leading the series 2-1. The Kraken won game one 5-4 in overtime. The Stars won game two 4-2. The Kraken won game three 7-2. Late in the first period of game four Jamie Benn scored on the powerplay to give the Stars the lead. After the first period the score was 1-0 Stars.

Thomas Harley scored to add to the Stars lead. Max Domi scored for the Stars. Joe Pavelski scored for the Stars on the powerplay. Jaden Schwartz scored to get the Kraken on the board. Roope Hintz scored late in the period to get the Stars back up by four. The score was 5-1 heading into the final period.

Jaden Schwartz scored again to give the Kraken their second goal. Adam Larsson scored to bring the Kraken back within two goals. Max Domi scored again to put the Stars back up by three goals. The final score was 6-3 Stars. The series is now tied at 2-2.

This series keeps going back and fourth. The winning team in these games seems to be scoring in bunches. In this game Seattle let Dallas get up by four goals before scoring. They can’t do that and expect to win. They couldn’t slow down Dallas. They didn’t do enough on offense. Will the Stars keep the offense going? How will the Kraken respond in game five?

Game five will be on Thursday, May 11th 2023. Puck drop is set for 6:30pm PST.

Round one game twos finish up today. The Florida Panther have a chance to eliminate the Toronto Maple Leafs with a win today. The Panthers have a 3-0 series lead after winning the first three games in the series. The Panthers won game one 5-2, they won game two 3-2, and they won game three 3-2 in overtime. Will the Panthers complete the sweep at home in game three? Will the Maple Leafs be able to win a single game in round two?

Todays other game is the Vegas Golden Knights and Edmonton Oilers. The Golden Knights lead the series 2-1 after a 5-1 win in game two. Can the Golden Knights continue to shut down the Oilers offense? How will the Oilers respond in game four? Will the Oilers get their offense going again?

The Vegas Golden Knights, Carolina Hurricanes, Dallas Stars, Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, Seattle Kraken, and New Jersey Devils have advanced to round two. The Winnipeg Jets, New York Islanders, Minnesota Wild, Tampa Bay Lightning, Los Angeles Kings, Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche, and New York Rangers have been eliminated.

The Vegas Golden Knights will play the Edmonton Oilers in round two. The Carolina Hurricanes will play the New Jersey Devils in round two. The Dallas Stars will play the Seattle Kraken in round two. The Toronto Maple Leafs will play the Florida Panthers in round two.
