We are now thirty three days into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There was one game yesterday. Yesterdays game was game one of the Western Conference Finals. That series is between the Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars. There is one game today. It is game two of the Eastern Conference Finals. That game will be between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers. In the last game of that series they played four overtimes.
It was game one of the Western Conference Finals between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Dallas Stars. Jason Robertson scored the opening goal of the game. His goal put the Stars on top. The score was 1-0 Stars after the first period.
William Karlsson scored to tie the game. His goal for the Golden Knights was the only goal of the second period. The scored was tied up at 2-2 heading into the third period.
William Karlsson scored again to give the Golden Knights the lead early in the second period. Roope Hintz scored to tie the game. Teddy Blueger scored to get the Golden Knights back on top. Jemmie Benn scored for the Stars late in the game to tie it. The score was tied at 3-3 after three periods. The game would head to overtime to decide a winner.
Brett Howden scored early into over time to win the game. His goal gave the Golden Knights the win. The Golden Knights now have a 1-0 series lead over the Dallas Stars.
There have been five overtime periods in two games so far in the Conference Finals. The games are close and there is a lot of good hockey. Despite Dallas scoring early they seemed to be chasing the game. Vegas on the other hand gave up multiple leads. That is not a good look for Vegas going into game two. Will there be more overtime in game two? Will game Two be as close as game one? Will the either team be able to keep a lead? Will the Golden Knights take a 2-0 series lead? How will the Stars respond? Will the Stars be able to get the split and tie the series in Vegas?
