We are now thirty nine days into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There was one game yesterday. Yesterdays game was game four of the Western Conference Finals between the Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars. The Golden Knights had the chance to sweep that series. There are no games going on today. The Golden Knights and Stars series is the only one happening right now. That series will return tomorrow.
Heading into game four of the Western Conference Finals the Vegas Golden Knights had a 3-0 lead over the Dallas Stars. The Golden Knights won game one 4-3 in overtime, the won game two 3-2 in overtime, and they won game three 4-0. Game four started off with a Golden Knights goal from William Karlsson. Jason Robertson scored on the powerplay to tie the game. The score was 1-1 after the first period.
Jonathan Marchessault scored half way through the second period. His goal gave the Golden Knights the lead. Jason Robertson scored late in the period to tie the game again. The score was tied at 2-2 going into the third period.
Neither team scored in the third period. The game would head into overtime with the score still tied at 2-2. Jose Pavelski scored on the powerplay early in overtime. His goal won the game for the Stars. The Golden Knights now lead the series 3-2.
The Stars finally respond. They stay alive. It wan’t much of a response to be honest. They never lead the game. The managed to force overtime and score but honestly it felt like the Golden Knights game to lose. It never once seemed like the Starts were going to take the lead. This was a close game. The Stars will live to fight another day. The Golden Knights didn’t get the offense rolling or shut down the Stars like they did in game three. I expect a huge responce from the Golden Knights in game five. I think the home rink advantage for the Golden Knights is too much for the Stars. The Stars barely won this game. What will the Golden Knights responce be in game five? Will they close out the series with a win at home? Will the Stars keep their hopes alive?
Game five will be on Saturday, May 27th, 2023. That game will be in Las Vegas. The start time is set for 5:00pm PST.
The next game in the Stanley Cup Playoffs will be game five of the Western Conference Finals. Again that game will be tomorrow.
