The Reno Ice Adult League Spring 2023 Playoffs finished yesterday. Yesterday was Championship Sunday. The A-League and B-League Championship games were all played back to back. The Summer 2023 season starts today.

#1 Swift Institute vs #2 Cruz Construction | B-League Championship
In the Reno Ice Adult League Spring 2023 B-League Champions game the number one seed Swift Institute played the number two seed Cruz Construction. Cruz Construction won their only regular season meeting. Cruz Construction had the better record over the last five games during the regular season. Last season the Swift Institute lost in the Semifinals. Cruz Construction are the defending RIAL B-League Champions. The Swift Institute beat Silver State Wire 6-1 in the Semifinals to reach the Championship game. Cruz Construction beat Carson City Hyundai 6-5 in the Semifinals to reach the Championship game.
The score was tied at 0-0 after the first period. The score was 2-1 Swift Institute after the second period. The final score was 2-2 after the third period. The game went to overtime. They ended up playing a five minute 4 on 4. Normally games go from regulation time to a shootout. It looks like they have removed the shootout from the league rules for the regular season games and have added the 4 on 4 overtime to the playoffs. The Swift Institute scored in overtime to win the game. The final score was 3-2 Swift Institute in overtime. The Swift Institute won the RIAL Spring 2023 B-League Championship game. Cruz Construction have been eliminated from the playoffs. The Swift Institute are now the RIAL Spring 2023 B-League Champions. This is their first RIAL B-League Championship. This is only the second time Cruz Construction has not won the RIAL B-League Championship.

#1 Doughboy’s Donuts! vs #3 Reno Gamblers | A-League Championship
In the Reno Ice Adult League Spring 2023 A-League Championship game the number one seed #1 Doughboy’s Donuts! played the number three seed Reno Gamblers. The Doughboy’s Donuts! won two of their three meetings during the regular season. They both won two of their last five games during the regular season. The Doughboy’s Donuts! are the defending RIAL A-League Champions. The Reno Gamblers lost in the Semifinals last season. Doughboy’s Donuts! defeated Whiskey Dekes 6-2 in the Semifinals to advance to the Championship game. The Reno Gamblers beat the Mustangs 8-4 to advance to the Championship game.
The score was 2-0 Reno Gamblers after the first period. The score was 4-2 Reno Gamblers after the second period. The final score was 7-3 Reno Gamblers.
The Reno Gamblers won the RIAL Spring 2023 A-League Championship game. The Doughboy’s Donuts! have been eliminated from the playoffs. The Reno Gamblers are now the RIAL Spring 2023 A-League Champions. I believe this is their second RIAL A-League Championship. Their last RIAL A-League Championship was the RIAL Fall 2021 A-League Championship.
