We are now fifty days into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There was one game yesterday. Yesterdays game was game two of the Stanley Cup Finals. This series is between the Wester Conference Champions Vegas Golden Knights and the Eastern Conference Champions Florida Panthers. The Golden Knights won game one. The Next game in this series won’t be until Thursday.
Coming into game two of the Stanley Cup Finals the Vegas Golden Knights had a 1-0 series lead over the Florida Panthers after winning game one 5-2. Game two started with powerplay goal from Jonathan Marchessault. His goal gave the Golden Knights the lead. Alec Martinez scored to add to that lead late in the first period. The score after the first period was 2-0 Golden Knights.
Nicolas Roy scored early in the second period to give the Golden Knights a three goal lead. Brett Howden scored for the Golden Knights. The score was 4-0 Vegas Golden Knights heading into the third period.
Anton Lundell scored 14 seconds into the third period to get the Panthers on the board. Jonathan Marchessault scored again for the Golden Knights. Michael Amadio scored for the Golden Knights. Matthew Tkachuk scored the Panthers second goal of the game. Brett Howden scored late in the game on the powerplay for the Golden Knights. The final score was 7-2 Vegas Golden Knights. The Vegas Golden Knights now have a 2-0 series lead over the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals.
This was a brutal win by the Vegas Golden Knights. They are playing at the top of their game and the Florida Panthers are not matching it. It looks like the Panthers are going to have to take their game to a whole other level to keep up with the Golden Knights. This was not the response they needed in game two. Will the Golden Knights continue to destroy the Panthers? How will the Panthers respond in game three? Will the Golden Knights continue to play at this level? What do the Panthers have to stop the Golden Knights?

The Winnipeg Jets, New York Islanders, Minnesota Wild, Tampa Bay Lightning, Los Angeles Kings, Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche, and New York Rangers were eliminated in round one.
The Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars advanced to the Western Conference Finals. The New Jersey Devils, Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, and Seattle Kraken have been eliminated in round two.
The Carolina Hurricanes have been eliminated in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Florida Panthers have advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Dallas Stars have been eliminated in the Western Conference Finals. The Vegas Golden Knights have advanced to the Staley Cup Finals.
