It’s October! the_jerseysnerds on Instagram have started a new concept jersey challenge for the month of October. I have decided to join in. Each day in October there will be a different prompt for a concept. Today is Sunday, October 1, 2023 and the prompt is to do a “Earned Edition” for a hockey team. I found out about this after seeing Carter Richard Designs Instagram post about this. I think it will be a fun challenge for this month.
“Earned Edition” jerseys are alternate National Basketball Association jerseys which are given to teams that made the previous seasons playoffs. When I think of the Earned Edition I think of the home or away jerseys just being remixed. A lot of the NBA Earned Edition jerseys are that way. I decided to do an NHL jersey for this concept. I put the sixteen playoff teams in the Wheel of Names. That way I could do one at random. The winner was the Florida Panthers.

The design is just a recolor of their home jersey. The primary color of the jersey is blue instead of red. The secondary color is gold. The jersey has red accents. It has the logo from their away jersey on the front. It has the same alternate logo on the arms that are on their away jersey. The numbers are on the shoulders. I decided not to put anything on the neck. It does not have the laces that are normally on the Florida Panthers jerseys because I did this in a rush but I think it still is fine. I had gold in mind for this jersey because I wanted something that was different for the Panthers and that could be linked back to them winning the Eastern Conference.
