Today is the Eighth day of Conceptober. Todays prompt is create a jersey concept for a women’s team. The Professional Women’s Hockey League is the current top level of women’s ice hockey in North America. That league does not have any of their team names or logos revealed yet. They were formally the Premier Hockey Federation. Since this summer they announced they will be working with the NHL to make the PWHL. For todays concept I drew from not just PWHL but also other former women’s ice hockey leagues.
Again I used the Wheel of Names to pick a team for this concept. I drew from sixty three possible teams. I drew from the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (2007-2019), the National Women’s Hockey League (1992-2007), The Premier Hockey Federation (2015-2023), and the Professional Women’s Hockey League. The winner was the PWHL Toronto.

The PWHL Toronto team does not have a name yet. None of the PWHL teams have names yet. For this concept they will just be the PWHL Toronto. Their colors are blue and white like the Toronto Maple Leafs. They are the same shades that the Toronto Maple Leafs used for the 2022 NHL Heritage Classic. So the blue is darker. The logo is inspired by the former Toronto Furies of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League. The jersey is inspired by the Toronto Maple Leafs. With this league being done in partnership with the NHL and every team being in an NHL city, I can see the PWHL using the same or similar branding to the NHL teams.
