Here we go. The National Hockey League along with the Vegas Golden Knights and the Seattle Kraken revealed their 2024 NHL Winter Classic jerseys last week. The Seattle Kraken are hosting the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2024 NHL Winter Classic on January 1st, 2024. The game will be at the home of the Seattle Mariners, T-Mobile Park. This will be the first outdoor NHL game for the Seattle Kraken. It will be the second outdoor NHL game for the Vegas Golden Knights. The Vegas Golden Knights participated in the NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe event back in 2021.

It was announced that the Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights would be playing in the 2024 NHL Winter Classic back in January after rumors surfaced about the Golden Knights and Kraken playing outdoors in 2024 surfaced. The logo for the 2024 NHL Winter Classic was revealed back in June. The logos both teams are using were leaked back in August. The Kraken jerseys were leaked by the Utah Jazz of the NBA a week before they were officially announced. The Golden Knights jerseys were leaked shortly after by All Elite Wrestling Broadcast. Anyway they are here.

The Seattle Kraken 2024 NHL Winter Classic jerseys is deep sea blue, ice blue, tan, and red alert. It is designed after the 1917 Stanley Cup winning Seattle Metropolitans jersey. It is a design that Seattle fans have been asking for since day one. On the front is a red version of their primary logo with Kraken inside. On the shoulder is the 2024 NHL Winter Classic logo. On the collar is 1917 for the year when the Seattle Metropolitans won the Stanley Cup. Overall it is not bad but it is kind of predictable for Seattle.

The Vegas Golden Knights 2024 NHL Winter Classic jersey is tan, steel grey, and gold. It has a simple retro design. On the front is a V logo for Vegas. The logo is inspired by the old west. On the shoulder is the 2024 NHL Winter Classic logo. Overall I think they jersey is very plain. I also think the old west theme doesn’t really work for the Golden Knights. Las Vegas was not even established until well after the age of cowboys. When I think of retro Las Vegas I think of Elvis, Sinatra, and all of the old casinos in the desert. I think a modernest design inspired by the 60s would have been better. I still like it though.
