Next up in my American Hockey League concept series is the Manitoba Moose. They are the primary affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets. They play in the 15,321-capacity Canada Life Centre. The Manitoba Moose are from Winnipeg Manitoba. The Moose are one of two AHL teams that share an arena with an NHL team. Winnipeg has a population of 749,607. The Moose were founded in 1994 in Minnesota as the Minnesota Moose of the IHL after the Minnesota North Stars of the NHL moved to Dallas. The Moose moved to Winnipeg in 1996 after the original Winnipeg Jets moved to Phoenix. The Moose joined the AHL in 2001. In 2011 the Moose moved to become the St. John’s IceCaps after the Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL relocated to Winnipeg. The Manitoba Moose returned in 2014.
For this concept, the Manitoba Moose play in the AHL’s International Division in the Western Conference. The other teams in the International Division are the Colorado Eagles, the Iowa Wild, the Milwaukee Admirals, the Rockford IceHogs, the Springfield Thunderbirds, the Texas Stars, and the Tucson Roadrunners.

The Manitoba Moose colors are Polar Night blue, aviator blue, silver, and white. Their primary logo is a moose in front of a forest with the team name.

The Manitoba Moose first alternate logo is a moose head. Their second alternate logo is a wordmark logo from their primary logo. Their third alternate logo is an m monogram.
