2022 AHL Concept

Colorado Eagles | AHL Concept Part Twenty Four

Next up in my American Hockey League concept series is the Colorado Eagles. They are the primary affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche. They play in the 7,500-capacity Budweiser Events Center. The Colorado eagles are from Loveland, Colorado which has a population of 76,378. They are only 46 miles from Denver Colorado where the Colorado Avalanche are. The Colorado Eagles were founded in 2003 as an expansion team in the Central Hockey League. In 2011 they moved from the CHL to the ECHL. In 2017 they moved from the ECHL to the American Hockey League.

For this concept, the Colorado Eagles play in the AHL’s International Division in the Western Conference. The other teams in the International Division are the Iowa Wild, the Manitoba Moose, the Milwaukee Admirals, the Rockford IceHogs, the Springfield Thunderbirds, the Texas Stars, and the Tucson Roadrunners.

The Colorado Eagles also played in the AHL Stadium Series. Check out that concept here.

This season they also introduced a 20th anniversary logo. Their colors are blue, yellow, red, black, and white.
