The Tahoe Knight Monsters were coming off of a 7-6 overtime victory over the Utah Grizzlies. The Knight Monsters were on a eight game winning streak. The Tahoe Knight Monsters had a record of 15-6-2. The Knight Monsters were in 6th place in the ECHL. The Knight Monsters were 3rd in the Western Conference and 2nd in the Mountain Division. On Friday, forward Blake Chistensen and forward Cal Kiefiuk were activiated from reserve by the Knight Monsters. Forward Simon Pinard and forward Jett Jones were recalled by the Henderson Silver Knights. #35 Viny Duplessis got the start in net for the Utah Grizzlies. It was his sixth start of the season for the Grizzlies.


A minute into the game, the Utah Grizzlies took the lead. The goal was scored by #10 Mick Messner. It was assisted by #8 Keaton Mastrodonato.
Five minutes into the game, #24 Gianni Fairbrother scored for the Grizzlies to give them a two goal lead. #6 Andrew Nielsen got the assist.
Six minutes into the game, the Tahoe Knight Monsters would receive a bench minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. Seven minutes into the game, #16 Luke Manning of the Utah Grizzlies received a penalty for interference. The score was 2-0 Utah Grizzlies after the first period.

Fifty seven seconds into the second period, the Utah Grizzlies took a three goal lead. The goal was scored by #5 Derek Daschke. It was assisted by #42 Cole Fonstad and #17 Reed Lebster.
A minute into the second period, #28 Logan Nelson of the Tahoe Knight Monsters received a penalty for tripping. Ten minuted into the second period, the Grizzlies scored again. #8 Keaton Mastrodonato scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #4 Bryan Yoon and #16 Luke Manning.
With under six minutes left in the second period, #14 Briley Wood of the Grizzlies received a penalty for slashing. The score was 4-0 Grizzlies after the second period.

With seven minutes left in the third period, the Tahoe Knight Monsters got on the board. #28 Logan Nelson scored the goal. #21 Sloan Stanick and #4 Brandon Tabakin got the assists.
Less than a minute after the Knight Monsters scored, the Grizzlies scored again. #3 Craig Armstrong got the goal. It was assisted by #25 Cole Gallant and #4 Bryan Yoon.
With two minutes left in the game, the Knight Monsters scored. #15 Jake McGrew got the goal. His goal was assisted by #96 Brenan Kapcheck and #17 Adam Robbins.
Less than a minute later the Knight Monsters scored another goal. #12 Bear Hughes got the goal. His goal was assisted by #96 Brenan Kapcheck and #21 Sloan Stanick.
With under two minutes left in the game the Knight Monsters pulled their goalie. With under a minute to go the Grizzlies scored on the empty net. #22 Neil Shea got the goal. #6 Andrew Nielsen and #16 Luke Manning got the assists.
The final score was 6-3 Utah Grizzlies.

This was disappointing. The Tahoe Knight Monsters were not in this game for the first two periods. The Utah Grizzlies avoid the record books by winning their first game in a long time. The Knight Monsters winning streak came to an end. Their is hope. The Knight Monsters are still at the top of the division. They can still continue to battle for the top of the ECHL.

The Tahoe Knight Monsters had ten more shots. The Utah Grizzlies had the better shot percentage. The Knight Monsters had two more penalty minutes. #1 Jesper Vikman saved 21 shots for a 78% save percentage for the Tahoe Knight Monsters. #35 Viny Duplessis saved 34 shots for a 92% save percentage for the Utah Grizzlies.
