The Knight Monsters were coming off of a 3-1 victory over the Rapid City Rush. The Tahoe Knight Monsters had a record of 21-9-3. The Knight Monsters were in 5th place in the ECHL. The Knight Monsters were 2nd in the Western Conference and 1st in the Mountain Division. The Rapid City Rush are the ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames. The Rush played thirty three games. The Rush were coming off of a 1-3 loss to the Tahoe Knight Monsters. The Rush had a record of 9-17-7. The Rush were in 27th place in the ECHL. Forward Jakub Demek was placed on reserve. #31 Matt Radomsky got the start in net for the Rapid City Rush. It was his fifteenth start of the season. On Saturday, forward Garrett Klotz and goaltender Christian Propp were activated from reserve by the Rush. Forward Jack Jeffers was placed on reserve by the Rush. Goaltender Connor Murphy was recalled from the Rapid City Rush by the Calgary Wranglers.
Two minutes into the first period, the Rapid City Rush took the lead. #13 Ryan Wagner scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #20 Holden Wale and #23 Tyler Burnie.
Six minutes into the game, Tyler Burnie of the Rush received a penalty for tripping. On the powerplay, the Tahoe Knight Monsters tied the game. The goal was scored by #24 Isaac Johnson. His goal was assisted by #19 Luke Adam and #29 Matt Murphy.
Eight minutes into the game, the Knight Monsters took the lead. #24 Isaac Johnson scored the goal. His goal was unassisted.
Nine minutes into the game, the Knight Monsters took a two goal lead. #17 Adam Robbins scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #3 Adam Pitters and #23 Jake Johnson.
With eight minutes left in the first period, the Rush scored to bring the lead back down to one goal. #23 Tyler Burnie scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #45 Luke Mylymok and #52 Aaron Hyman.
With under four minutes left in the first period, Logan Nelson of the Knight Monsters received a penalty for holding. On the powerplay the Rush tied the game. #82 Brett Davis scored the tying goal. His goal was assisted by #13 Ryan Wagner and #24 Chaz Smedsrud.
Thirteen seconds after tying the game, the Rush took the lead. The goal was scored by #46 Luke Mylymok. His goal was unassisted.
With two minutes left in the first period, Billy Constantinou of the Rush received a penalty for hooking. Forty seconds later, Brady Pouteau of the Rush received a penalty for cross-checking. The score was 4-3 Rapid City Rush after the first period.
Five minutes into the second period, Charles Martin of the Rush received a penalty for cross-checking. Neither team scored in the second period. The score remained 4-3 Rapid City Rush.
Seven minutes into the third period, Adam Robbins of the Tahoe Knight Monsters received a penalty for tripping. With seven. minutes left in the game the Knight Monsters tied the game. #21 Sloan Stanick scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #16 Dominic Vidoli.
With just under two minutes left in the game, the Knight Monsters took the lead. #19 Luke Adam scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #16 Dominic Vidoli and #24 Isaac Johnson.
Thirty seconds after the Knight Monsters scored, the Rapid City Rush pulled their goalie. With two seconds on the clock, the Tahoe Knight Monsters scored an empty net goal to take a two goal lead. The goal was scored by #21 Sloan Stanick. The goal was unassisted.
The final score was 6-4 Tahoe Knight Monsters.

There was plenty of offense in the first period. Both teams scored three goals in a row. Things died down in the second period. The Tahoe Knight Monsters scored three unanswered goals in the third period to win the game. The last two goals with under two minutes left in the game pushed the Knight Monsters over the edge to win. The Knight Monsters let the Rapid City Rush come back into the game after going up by two. Two quick goals saw the Rush take the lead. They were able to maintain that lead for most of the game. The Knight monsters should have been able to hold onto their lead and build on it. They didn’t. They had to fight their way back to taking the lead in a game where they really should not have. The Knight Monsters did get their third win in a row and are now on a winning streak. The Rush were not able to bounce back after Saturdays loss despite coming close. The Knight Monsters were able to stay on top of the division with the win.
The Rapid City Rush had twelve more shots. The Knight Monsters had the better shot percentage. The Rapid City Rush had two more penalty minutes. #30 Jordan Papirny saved 31 shots for a 89% save percentage for the Tahoe Knight Monsters. #31 Matt Radomsky saved 17 shots for a 74% save percentage for the Rapid City Rush.
