
The Tahoe Knight Monsters took on the Iowa Heartlanders on Friday. Puck drop was at 5:00 PM. The game was at Xtream Arena in Coralville Iowa. It was the thirty sixth game of the season. The Knight Monsters were coming off of a 2-3 defeat over the Rapid City Rush. The Tahoe Knight Monsters had a record of 22-10-3. The Knight Monsters were in 5th place in the ECHL. The Knight Monsters were 2nd in the Western Conference and 1st in the Mountain Division. The Iowa Heartlanders are the ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild. The Heartlanders had played thirty five games this season. The Heartlanders were coming off of a 2-1 Win over the Indy Fuel. The Heartlanders had a record of 10-11-4. The Heartlanders were in 9th place in the ECHL. The Heartlanders were in 6th place in the ECHL Western Conference. The Heartlanders were in 2nd place in the ECHL Western Conference Central Division.

Both teams had played thirty five games. The Knight Monsters had two more wins. The Knight Monsters had the better points percentage. The Knight Monsters had scored forty more goals. #1 Jesper Vikman get the start in net for the Tahoe Knight Monsters. It was his twentieth start of the season for the Knight Monsters. On Tuesday, forward Jett Jones was assigned to the Tahoe Knight Monsters by the Henderson Silver Knights. On Friday, forward Jett Jones, and defender Brennan Kapcheck were activated from reserve by the Knight Monsters. Forward Adam Robbins and forward Adam Pitters were placed on reserve by the Knight Monsters. #35 William Rousseau got the start in net for the Iowa Heartlanders. it was his thirteenth start of the season for the Heartlanders. On Tuesday, the Heartlanders placed forward Adam Goodsir on 14-day injured reserve. On Wednesday, goaltender William Rousseau was assigned to the Iowa Heartlanders by the Iowa Wild. Forward Timmy Kent was activated from reserve by the Heartlanders. Goaltender Dante Giannuzzi was placed on reserve by the Heartlanders. On Friday, defender Hakon Nilsen was activated from reserve by the Heartlanders. Forward Matthew Sop was recalled to the Iowa Wild from the Iowa Heartlanders.


One minute into the game, the Tahoe Knight Monsters took the lead. #21 Sloan Stanick scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #15 Jake McGrew and #12 Bear Hughes.
Nine minutes into the game, the Iowa Heartlanders tied the game. The goal was scored by #19 Jonny Sorenson. It was assisted by #8 Will Calverley and #53 T.J. Walsh.
Eleven minutes into the game, Yuki Miura of the Iowa Heartlanders received a penalty for tripping. With three minutes left in the first period, the Heartlanders took the lead. #51 Zach Dubinsky scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #7 Jules Boscq and #11 Timmy Kent.
With three minutes left in the first period, Nico Blachman of the Heartlanders received a penalty for delay of game. With less than two minutes left in the first period, the Heartlanders took a two goal lead. The shorthanded goal was scored by #17 Jonny Sorenson. His goal was assisted by #7 Jules Boscq.
The score was 3-1 Iowa Heartlanders after the first period.

Under two minutes into the second period, the Iowa Heartlanders took a three goal lead. #17 Jonny Sorenson scored the goal to complete the hat trick. #8 Will Calverley and #53 T.J. Walsh got the assists.
Seven minutes into the second period, the Iowa Heartlanders scored again. #91 Brandon Yeamans scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #53 T.J. Walsh.
Ten minutes into the second period, the Heartlanders scored another goal. The goal was scored by #27 Ryan Miotto. His goal was assisted by #22 Dakota Rabbe and #23 Zeteny Hadobas. Following this goal, the Tahoe Knight Monsters pulled Jesper Vikman and put Jordan Papirny in net.
With under three minutes to play in the second period, Andrew McLean of the Heartlanders received a penalty for tripping. On the powerplay, the Tahoe Knight Monsters scored. The goal was scored by #28 Logan Nelson. His goal was assisted by #24 Isaac Johnson and #19 Luke Adam.
The score was 6-2 Iowa Heartlanders heading into the third period.

Six minutes into the third period, Jett Jones of the TahoeKnight Monsters received a double minor penalty for roughing. Dakota Raabe of the Iowa Heartlanders also received a penalty for roughing. With three minutes left in the game, the Tahoe Knight Monsters scored. The goal was scored by #12 Bear Hughes. His goal was assisted by #23 Jake Johnson and #16 Dominic Vidoli.
With under three minutes left in the game, the Tahoe Knight Monsters pulled their goalie for the extra attacker. With under two minutes left in the game, the Heartlanders scored an empty net goal. #18 Andrew McLean scored on the empty net his goal was unassisted.
Shortly after the goal, Nico Blachman of the Iowa Heartlanders received a penalty for roughing and a ten minute misconduct. The final score was 7-3 Iowa Heartlanders.

The Tahoe Knight Monsters scored first. They were unable to keep that momentum going. They let the Iowa Heartlanders score six goals in a row. The Knight Monsters couldn’t catch up. I chalk this one up to an off night for Vikman and the rest of the Knight Monsters. Off nights are going to happen. I am hoping that they can quickly put this game behind them. The Knight Monsters have now lost back to back games. This was the first time that the Tahoe Knight Monsters have allowed seven goals in a game. This is the second time this season that the Tahoe Knight Monsters have lost by four goals. This is not the worst loss for the Tahoe Knight Monsters this season. I am hoping for a quick turn around.

The Tahoe Knight Monsters had seventeen more shots. The Iowa Heartlanders had the better shot percentage. The Heartlanders had sixteen more penalty minutes. #1 Jesper Vikman saved 10 shots for a 62.5% save percentage for the Tahoe Knight Monsters. #30 Jordan Papirny saved three shots for a 100% save percentage.
