The Tahoe Knight Monsters are playing the Fort Wayne Komets this weekend. They have games in Lake Tahoe at the Tahoe Blue event Center on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The theme for all three games is “Military Appreciation Weekend”. For this weekend they will be wearing specialty jerseys. Those jerseys will be military themed. The Knight Monsters teased the jerseys on Thursday night. The Knight Monsters revealed the jerseys Friday morning. It is common for teams to have camouflage jerseys during military themed promotions. The Knight Monsters jersey is Tessie teal, Tahoe turquoise, black, and Vegas gold. The jersey features a camo pattern on the arms and at the bottom of the jersey. The style of the jersey has a unique style to it that seems to be inspired by the Vegas Golden Knights jerseys. On the sleeves is the camo pattern. Below that are turquoise and gold stripes. The Shoulders are black with white stars. The bottom of the jersey has the camo pattern and a turquoise stripe. There is also black on the bottom of the sleeves and bottom of the jersey. The jersey has military stencil style numbers and names. It is a solid jersey. The Tahoe Knight Monsters primary logo is on the front, the Reno Harley Davidson logo is also on the jersey. The jerseys along with other items including a custom goalie mask are being auctioned off on Dash.
I have always thought that teams should make their specialty jerseys available for fans. The only way to get them so far this season has been through auctions. I also think it would be cool if the specialty jerseys were recolors or remixes of their primary jersey designs. The Alaska Aces used to do something like that. The Tahoe Knight Monsters do have additional military appreciation merch available. They have at least pucks and sweaters available. My favorite camo jersey of all time was a Bakersfield Condors veterans day jersey. It has a solid remixed logo with the USA flag, camo, and military branch logos. The Condors also had a solid Vietnam War inspired jersey in 2017. I also really like the Adidas NHL olive camo jersey from the 2021-22 season. This seasons NHL camo jerseys are alright. They just look more like something from a video game than actually inspired by military design. The Army Black Knights have had solid military inspired hockey jerseys over the last few season. I think the Army Black Knight pull off the military look on the ice better than anyone right now.
