The Fort Wayne Komets scored first. The Komets took a bad penalty. On the rush their player crashed the net with no one around and ran into the goalie. The Tahoe Knight Monsters capitalized on the powerplay to tie the game. In the first period i did notice that the Komets were clogging up the middle of their zone and were making solid saves. This was making it difficult for the Knight Monsters to create high scoring chances which continued throughout the game. There was a lot of good hockey in the second period. The ice behind the net in front of the Zamboni entrance was uneven. The puck kept bouncing every time it went behind the net. The ice trouble persisted until another section of the ice became unplayable. Then they had the delay. By the end of the game I felt like they turned the chiller down. The eighteen minute delay changed the game. The Komets took the lead while both teams were still cold. The Knight Monsters never recovered after the delay. That was evident by the goal after the delay and the goal early to start the third period. In the third period the Knight Monsters struggled to create pressure and sustain it. The Knight Monsters were also struggling with turn overs out of their zone. The Knight Monsters would not get their third win in a row. The Komets would get their sixth win in a row.
