It was the forty third game of the season. The Tahoe Knight Monsters were coming off of a 1-2 defeat to the Kansas City Mavericks. The Tahoe Knight Monsters had a record of 25-14-3. Nine minutes into the third period, Brennan Kapcheck of the Knight Monsters received a penalty for tripping. On the powerplay, the Mavericks scored again. #22 Casey Carreau scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #15 Marcus Crawford and #28 Cade Borchardt.
With under five minutes left in the game, Daniel Amesbury of the Mavericks received a penalty for Kneeing. Ten seconds later, Jimmy Mazza of the Mavericks received a penalty for hooking. The Kansas City Mavericks scored early and were able to build on their lead. The Tahoe Knight Monsters didn’t have a strong response. The Knight Monsters offense was absent this game. The Knight Monsters couldn’t stop the Mavericks from scoring. The Knight Monsters have now lost their last three games. They are now on a losing streak. The Knight Monsters offense is not there right now. They have scored three or less goals in the last nine games. They finish up January with a loss and starting a losing streak. This is a result of the lack off offense over the last nine games. Something changed. Something needs to change now. They need to find ways to hit the net. The need to find ways to create scoring chances. They need to find the back of the net. Today is the start of a new month. There is still plenty of time left in the season. They are still in a playoff spot. I am hopeful for a turn around. I am hoping that they didn’t end up at the top of the division just because they played teams at the bottom of the division a lot in the first half of the season.
