It was the forty-sixth game of the season. The Golden Monsters were coming off of a 3-1 victory over the Adirondack Thunder. The Tahoe Golden Monsters had a record of 26-15-4. The Golden Monsters were in 11th place in the ECHL. The Golden Monsters were 4th in the Western Conference and 3rd in the Mountain Division. The Adirondack Thunder had played forty-one games. Goaltender Jordan Papirny was called up from the Tahoe Golden Monsters to the Henderson Silver Knights. Goaltender Justin Sand was added by the Tahoe Golden Monsters as the emergency backup. Forward Cal Kiefiuk was placed on 14-day injured reserve by the Golden Monsters. Forward Logan Nelson was placed on reserve by the Golden Monsters. #35 Colby Muise got the start in net for the Adirondack Thunder. It was his fifth game played this season. On Friday, defender Taylor Ford was activated from reserve by the Thunder. Forward Ryan Francis was placed on reserve by the Thunder.


four minutes into the first period, Brendan Less of the Adirondack Thunder received a penalty for tripping. Seven minutes into the game Adam Robbins of the Tahoe Golden Monsters received a penalty for roughing. With under a minute left in the first period, Bear Hughes of the Golden Monsters received a penalty for cross-checking. Then Grant Loven of the the Thunder received a penalty for interference. Then Brennan Kapcheck of the Golden Monsters received a penalty for tripping. The score was tied at 0-0 after the first period.

One minute into the second period, the Adirondack Thunder took the lead. The first goal of the game was scored by #17 KEvin O’Neil. His goal was assisted by #6 Ryan Wheeler and #37 Dylan Wendt.
Two minutes into the second period, Nate Kallen of the Tahoe Golden Monsters received a penalty for hooking. Seven minutes into the second period, the Golden Monsters tied the game. #13 Simon Pinard scored the tying goal. His goal was assisted by #21 Sloan Stanick and #12 Bear Hughes.
Twelve minutes into the second period, Taylor Ford of the Thunder received a penalty for slashing. On the powerplay, the Golden Monsters took the lead. #3 Adam Pitter scored the goal. #13 Patrick Newell and #26 Nate Kallen got the assists.
Just over a minute after taking the lead, the Golden Monsters scored to take a two goal lead. #17 Adam Robbins got the goal. His goal was assisted by #44 Jake Stevens.

Under a minute into the third period, the Adirondack Thunder scored to bring the lead down to one goal. #10 Savva Smirnov scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #43 Kishaun Gervais and #17 Kevin O’Neil.
With under eight minutes left in the game Brennan Kapcheck of the Golden Monsters received a penalty for interference. Brennan Kapcheck received another penalty almost as soon as he got out of the box. His third penalty of the night was for interference. On the penalty kill, #13 Simon Pinard scored a short handed goal for the Golden Monsters. His goal was unassisted.
With three minutes left in the game, the Golden Monsters scored an empty net goal. The goal was scored by Bear Hughes. His goal was unassisted.
The final score was 5-2 Tahoe Golden Monsters.

Neither team scored in the first period. At one point they did have to clean up some blood in the Tahoe Golden Monsters end after Slava Demin of the Golden Monsters was hit by a puck. He did return to the game. The Adirondack Thunder took the lead early in the second period. The Golden Monsters followed that up with three unanswered goals to take the lead going into the third period. The Thunder scored early again in the third period. The Golden Monsters scored two more unanswered goals late in the game to seal the win. The Golden Monsters were able to get their offense going and weren’t able to be stopped. The Golden Monsters did get back to back wins.
The Thunder did not have an answer in this game.
