It was the forty-seventh game of the season. The Golden Monsters were coming off of a 5-2 victory over the Adirondack Thunder. The Tahoe Golden Monsters had a record of 27-15-4. The Golden Monsters were in 9th place in the ECHL. The Golden Monsters were 3rd in the Western Conference and 3rd in the Mountain Division. The Adirondack Thunder had played forty-two games. The Thunder were coming off of a 2-5 loss to the Tahoe Golden Monsters. The Thunder have a record of 16-24-2. The Thunder are in 27th place in the ECHL. The Thunder were in 14th place in the ECHL Eastern Conference. The Thunder were in 7th place in the ECHL Eastern Conference North Division.

#1 Jesper Vikman got the start in net for the Tahoe Golden Monsters. It was his twenty-sixth game played of the season. On Saturday, The Tahoe Golden Monsters released forward Tyler Dill. The Tahoe Golden Monsters signed defender Cade Alami and defender Jordan Henderson. Forward Legan Nelson was activated by the Golden Monsters. Forward Luke Adam was placed on reserve by the Golden Monsters. Defender Aidan Girduckis was placed on 14-day injured reserve by the Golden Monsters. #34 Tyler Brennan got the start in net for the Adirondack Thunder. On Saturday, defender Ty Gibson was activated by the Thunder. Defender Taylor Ford was placed on reserve.


Three minutes into the first period, the Adirondack Thunder took the lead. The goal was scored by #37 Dylan Wendt. His goal was unassisted.
Four minutes into the game, the Tahoe Golden Monsters tied the game. Theying goal was scored by #12 Bear Hughes. His goal was assisted by #21 Sloan Stanick.
With under four minutes left in the first period, Grant Loven of the Adirondack Thunder received a penalty for tripping. With two minutes left in the period, #96 Brennan Kapcheck left the ice. The score was tied at 1-1 after the first period.

Two minutes into the second period, the Adirondack Thunder scored to take the lead. #22 Gustav Mullwe scored the goal. #36 Sean Gulka and #7 Adrien Bisson got the assists. The goal would be reviewed but it would stand.
Nine minutes into the second period, Bear Hughes of the Tahoe Golden Monsters received a penalty for fighting and Adrien Bisson of the Thunder received a penalty for fighting.
With under two minutes left in the second period, #13 Simon Pinard scored for the Golden Monsters to tie the game. His goal was assisted by #21 Sloan Stanick and #20 Slava Demin.
Cade Alami of the Tahoe Golden Monsters received a penalty for holding with under a minute left in the second period. The game was tied at 2-2 going into the third period.

To start off the third period, the ice was not freezing. It was very wet. With five minutes left in the game, the Tahoe Golden Monsters took the lead. #15 Jake McGrew scored the go ahead goal. #3 Adam Pitters and #10 Jett Jones got the assists.
With under two minutes left in the game, the Adirondack Thunder pulled their goalie. With their goalie pulled they were able to tie the game with fifty-two seconds left on the clock. #19 T.J. Friedmann scored the tying. His goal was assisted by #2 Brendan Less and #17 Kevin O’Neil.
The score was tied at 3-3 after the third period. The game would go into overtime.

With two minutes left in overtime, #21 Sloan Stanick scored for the Tahoe Golden Monsters to win the game. His goal was assisted by #44 Jake Stevens. After the goal the Adirondack Thunder stayed on the ice for a few minutes after the game. Even after the Tahoe Golden Monsters left the ice it seemed like the Thunder were protesting the goal.
The final score was 4-3 Tahoe Golden Monsters.


The Adirondack Thunder took the lead early in the first period. The Tahoe Golden Monsters had a quick answer. The Thunder scored early to start the third period. The Golden Monsters responded with a goal late in the second period. The Golden Monsters finally found the lead late in the third period. With time winding down the Thunder tied the game. The Golden Monsters found a way to win in overtime. The ice continues to be an issue. Injuries are continuing to pile up for the Golden Monsters. The game winning overtime goal was never under review. I think they were trying to argue that the puck was hit out of the goalies glove but I don’t think it was ever in his glove. The puck was already in the back of the net by the time it would have hit the goalies glove. The Golden Monsters got their third win in a row. They are now on a winning streak. They got the sweep in this home series. The Thunder did not have an answer for the Golden Monsters all weekend. This is what the Golden Monsters needed after a rough January.
