With under five minutes left in the second period, Alex Gritz of the the Thunder received a penalty for hooking. The score was 5-3 Wichita Thunder heading into the third period.

With under three minutes left in the game, the Tahoe Knight Monsters pulled their goalie. The Wichita Thunder then scored on the empty net. The goal was scored by #19 Joe Carrol. His goal was assisted by #2 Nico Somerville.
There were no penalties in the third period. The final score was 6-3 Wichita Thunder.

The game was tied after the first period. There was three powerplay goals in the first period. The Wichita Thunder took a two goal lead early in the second period. It was too much of a deficit for the Tahoe Knight Monsters to catch up. The Knight Monster have now lost back to back games. The Knight Monsters won a close game for the first game in Wichita. Them for the second and third games their defense was no where to be found. The Knight Monsters could not keep up with the Thunder on offense in the second two games.
