The Tahoe Knight Monsters were coming off of a 2-1 victory over the Allen Americans. The Knight Monsters had a record of 32-19-4. The Knight Monsters were in 10th place in the ECHL. Six minutes into the second period, Liam Gorman of the Allen Americans received a penalty for cross-checking. Nine minutes into the second period, the Americans scored to gain a two goal lead. The goal was scored by #3 Jayy Powell. His goal was assisted by #16 Kyle Crnkovic and #91 Miko Matikka.
With under two minutes left in the second period, the Knight Monsters scored to bring the lead back down to one goal. #13 Simon Pinard scored the goal. His goal was assisted by #10 Jett Jones and #21 Sloan Stanick.

Nine minutes into the third period, there was a scrum behind the Tahoe Knight Monsters net after Mark Duarte of the Allen Americans was hit behind the Knight Monster net after the play. He was hit because he was going for the goalie after the goalie had the puck. Ten minutes into the third period, Jordan Henderson of the Tahoe Knight Monsters received a penalty for cross-checking. With under six minutes left in the game, the Allen Americans scored to reestablish their two goal lead. The goal was scored by #2 Quinn Warmuth. His goal was unassisted.
With under three minutes left in the game, the Americans scored an empty net goal. The goal was scored by #23 J.C. Brassard. His goal was assisted by #33 Luke Richardson.
With under thirty seconds left in the game, goaltender Jesper Vikman of the Knight Monsters was hit in the head with the puck. It knocked his straps loose. It did look like the Americans player was trying to hit him in the head on purpose. The final score was 4-1 Allen Americans.

The Allen Americans took the lead in the first period. They built on that lead in they second period. With the Tahoe Knight Monsters second period goal, the game was close going into the third period. The Knight Monsters let in a soft goal in the third period. The Knight Monsters couldn’t catch up. In the second period, the officials made multiple wrong calls resulting in delays in the game. That is not just me saying that. There was a point when it was like every other call the officials would talk and the offsides or icing would be brought back to center. The Knight Monsters were struggling to connect on passes. They struggled to build momentum. They were playing on their heels al lot. I think what this game comes down to is that the Americans were desperate for a win. They played with a lot more energy in this game. They seemed to have better goaltending in this game as well. The Knight Monsters fell into the trap of trying to out skate the Americans. Instead of slowing things down or hitting like they were in Saturdays game, the Knight Monsters were trying to move the puck as quickly as they could. This is what the Americans wanted. This resulted in a lot of mistakes by the Knight Monsters. The Allen Americans losing streak has come to an end at twelve games. The Knight Monsters winning streak ends at three games. The frustrating part of this game was that the Knight Monsters needed all three wins. The Knight Monsters should have won this game. The Allen Americans are the worst teams in the league. The Knight Monsters should have won this game.
The Knight Monsters won the first two games of this home series against the Americans. The first game went to overtime but the Knight Monsters still got the win. The Knight Monsters dominated the second game with their physical play despite only winning by one goal. Then the Americans came out swinging in the third game. The Knight Monsters struggled to keep up. The Knight Monsters couldn’t really get their offense going in these three games. They got two points keeping them in a playoff position for now.
