The Allen Americans took the lead in the first period. They built on that lead in they second period. With the Tahoe Knight Monsters second period goal, the game was close going into the third period. The Knight Monsters let in a soft goal in the third period. The Knight Monsters couldn’t catch up. In the second period, the officials made multiple wrong calls resulting in delays in the game. That is not just me saying that. There was a point when it was like every other call the officials would talk and the offsides or icing would be brought back to center. The Knight Monsters were struggling to connect on passes. They struggled to build momentum. They were playing on their heels al lot. I think what this game comes down to is that the Americans were desperate for a win. They played with a lot more energy in this game. They seemed to have better goaltending in this game as well. The Knight Monsters fell into the trap of trying to out skate the Americans. Instead of slowing things down or hitting like they were in Saturdays game, the Knight Monsters were trying to move the puck as quickly as they could. This is what the Americans wanted. This resulted in a lot of mistakes by the Knight Monsters. The Allen Americans losing streak has come to an end at twelve games. The Knight Monsters winning streak ends at three games. The frustrating part of this game was that the Knight Monsters needed all three wins. The Knight Monsters should have won this game. The Allen Americans are the worst teams in the league. The Knight Monsters should have won this game.

The Knight Monsters won the first two games of this home series against the Americans. The first game went to overtime but the Knight Monsters still got the win. The Knight Monsters dominated the second game with their physical play despite only winning by one goal. Then the Americans came out swinging in the third game. The Knight Monsters struggled to keep up. The Knight Monsters couldn’t really get their offense going in these three games. They got two points keeping them in a playoff position for now.
