With under two minutes left in the period, Jake McGrew of the Knight Monsters received a penalty for boarding. I thought the hit was hard but not a penalty. The hit took place between the benches. It caused a scrum in front of the Knight Monsters bench. The Idaho player who was hit was slow to get up and did leave the ice. The officials took a while to talk about it. Collins started looking for a fight while the officials were talking it over. I think it should have resulted in a 4-on-4 not a Steelheads powerplay. None of the players in the scrum got roughing penalties. They should have handed out at least one to the Steelheads. The Idaho Steelheads would take a four goal lead on the powerplay. The goal was scored by #3 Nick Canade. His goal was assisted by #24 Reece Harsch and #33 Ben Kraws.

At the end of the game, Bear Hughes of the Knight Monsters received ten minute match penalty for slew-footing. All I saw was one of the Steelheads players go down in their zone while battling for the puck. The refs eventually stopped play. I do not know if the Steelheads player is injured. When play was stopped there were two different altercations that were going to escalate to fights. The officials made sure neither altercation turned into a fight. Anthony Collins was trying to start one of the fights. After the officials took him away, the Steelheads bench started chirping Collins.

The aggressiveness started early in the game. There were a lot of penalties in this game. I think the Idaho Steelheads are cowards. All series so far they refuse to fight but will not stop chirping. They also will make dirty plays but then not fight. Chirping a player from your own bench because no one on your team will fight hime is the most cowardly thing I have seen a hockey team do live. There was really poor goaltending by the Knight Monsters. They were making poor playing decisions. They were not connecting on passes. They were not shooting the puck. There was multiple times were the Knight Monsters were not able to get a shot off in the Steelheads zone. There was no hustle in the third period. They were not finishing their hits in the third period. It starts with goaltending. Jordan Papirny was not on his game. His kept letting in soft goals. He was not covering his corners that well. He was not controlling rebounds either. I get why he was not pulled. They did not want Vikman to play four games in five days. Nothing changed. The Knight Monsters kept trying the same strategy the whole game. After they were down 3-0 something should have changed. I would have liked to see them have played more aggressively. Yes they were playing aggressively but not in a meaningful way to effect the game. They were not hitting the puck carriers every chance they got. They were still letting the Steelheads make plays with getting in their face or making hits. I would have liked them to have taken more shots instead of always trying to set up the play. Get the puck on net. Get the greasy goals. Quit trying to find an open player all the time. They were also trying to force a goal. They kept shooting close and at the same spot multiple times. They were also taking the puck as close as they could to the net before taking a shot. It is disheartening that the Tahoe Knight Monsters can play so well and then turn around and play terrible.
