Reno Pond Hockey came into the Reno Ice Adult League Summer 2025 E-League season with a lot of hope. During the previous season Reno Pond Hockey came in second place during the regular season and lost in the championship game. There were a few hiccups during the summer regular season. Reno Pond Hockey fell just short of the regular season title. A six game winning streak helped boost Reno Pond Hockey into the playoffs. Reno Pond Hockey won their semifinal game against the Reno Fire Hosers by forfeit. They would advance to the championship game to play Satans Gatekeeper. This was the fourth season in a row that Reno Pond Hockey made the championship game. In the Reno Ice Adult League Summer 2025 E-League Championship game, Reno Pond Hockey was down 1-3 after the first period. Neither team scored in the second period. The score was still 1-3. Around halfway through the third period, Reno Pond Hockey cut the lead to one goal. Then With under five minutes left in the game, Reno Pond Hockey scored to tie the game at 3-3. With roughly three minutes left in the game, Reno Pond Hockey tried to clear the puck out of their own zone. On the clearing attempt the defender accidentally put it into his own net making the score 3-4. Down by a goal Reno Pond Hockey pulled their goalie. With sixteen second left in the game Reno Pond Hockey scored to send the game into overtime. Less than a minute into overtime, Reno Pond Hockey cleared the puck from their own end. It turned into a race for the puck. Reno Pond Hockey got a breakaway out of it. The Reno Pond Hockey forward took a slap shot. It went in. Reno Pond Hockey won the game 5-4. They worked hard all season. They never gave up in the championship game and were rewarded. This is the fourth Reno Pond Hockey RIAL Championship. This is their second RIAL E-League Championship. The last Reno Pond Hockey Championship was the RIAL Fall 2024 E-League Championship. This is the first time Reno Pond Hockey have won an RIAL Championship without winning the regular season title.
