The Tahoe Knight Monsters are the ECHL affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights. The Tahoe Knight Monsters were coming off an overtime win over the Allen Americans. The Rapid City Rush were in sixth place in the Mountain Division with a record of 28-35-7. The Rapid City Rush are the ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames. The Rapid City Rush were coming off an overtime win over the Utah Grizzlies.





Seven minutes into the game, the Rapid City Rush were called for slashing. Neither team scored a goal in the first period. The score was tied at 0-0 after the first period.

Two minutes into the second period, the Tahoe Knight Monsters scored to take the lead. Six minutes into the second period, Tahoe were called for holding. Nine minutes into the second period, Tahoe were called for roughing, At the same time the Rapid City Rush were given two penalties for roughing. On the power play, the Knight Monsters scored to take a two-goal lead. With under two minutes left in the second period, the Knight Monsters scored to take a three-goal lead. The Knight Monsters were leading 3-0 heading into the third period.

Twenty-six seconds into the third period, the Rapid City Rush scored. Six minutes into the third period, the Rush scored again to cut the lead down to one goal. With nine minutes left in the game, the Tahoe Knight Monsters were called for holding. On the power play, the Rush scored to tie the game. With seven minutes left in the third period, the Rush were called for roughing. With three minutes left in the third period, the Rush were called for tripping. The third period ended with the game tied at 3-3. The game would go into overtime.

Two minutes into overtime, the Rapid City Rush scored to win the game. The final score was 4-3, Rapid City Rush.
