Match Day Guide

Matchday guide | Reno 1868 FC VS Phoenix Rising 2 | Playoffs Conference Semifinals

Reno 1868 FC’s quest for the cup continues today. Reno will be hosting Phoenix Rising FC for the USL Championship Western Conference Semifinal. Greater Nevada Field was approved for 700 fans earlier this week. Thats up from the 250 fans that were at the match last week. This match did sell out. This should be a good match.

Leading Up To The Match

Smoothies. Pregame smoothies are now a tradition for Reno 1868 FC fans and players. The tradition has been going strong for two seasons now. The preferred smoothie provider of Reno 1868 FC is Keva Juice. They have multiple locations in Reno and even one in Carson City. Getting a smoothie at Keva Juice isn’t just for good luck, it also helps support a local business.

Here is a Spotify Playlist I made to get pumped for the playoffs:

Don’t forget to check out the promo video I made for tonight’s match. It’s a good way to get hyped for the match.

Pregame

The unofficially official place to pregame is Mellow Fellow. Mellow Fellow is located across the street from Greater Nevada Field. Fans started showing up at Mellow Fellow around 4 pm for last weeks match. I figure it will be the same this week. Ole Bridge Pub and Taste of Chicago are open and there are plenty of other places downtown to pregame within walking distance.

Here is the game day gif I made to help fans get hyped for tonight’s match.

I will be going live at 5 pm for a new episode of 1868 Now. 1868 Now is the live pregame show I do leading up to 1868 games. You can catch that on my twitter @ZacElectrifly

At The Match

Parking. Parking in the garage or lot across the street from Greater Nevada Field will cost fans $12-$15. The cheapest and most recommended way to park is on the street. Parking on the street is only a few dollars and is free after 6 pm. Parking at the El Dorado and Circus Circus is also free. the El Dorado is 0.5 miles away from the ballpark. That translates to roughly 10 minutes walking. It could also be convent if you want to pregame and post at The Row (Silver Legacy, El Dorado, Circus Circus).

Here is the game day poster I made for tonight’s match.

At the game all of the same regulations will be in place that was in place at last weeks match. Some new things that were added on include, coming in through a specific gate (more gates will be open for this match), and the ballpark being sectioned off into three sections. Gates open at 5 pm and kickoff is set for 6 pm.

Additional resources for fans attending the match:

Weather. Last week it got cold enough by the end of the match for a long sleeve shirt. If Reno continues to play through October the weather will get increasingly colder. Te forecast is set to be 77 degrees at kick off and by the end of the match it’s only set to get around 68 degrees. However that doesn’t take into account for the wind. I’d say bring a sweater or long sleeve shirt to the match just in case it’s needed by the end of the match.

Not making it to the match? For those not attending tonights match, the game can be watched on ESPN+. For those without ESPN+, fans can watch the match on local tv with Nevada Sports Net.
