“Additionally, USL HQ, the Tampa Bay Rowdies and Phoenix Rising FC will explore the possibility of a 2021 Season Kickoff game between the two clubs prior to the start of the 2021 Championship season. ”

USL Championship -October 31, 2020

The USL decided to cancel to final outright after some people in the Tampa Bay Rowdies organization tested positive for COVID-19. The announcements comes on Halloween. One day before the final was to be played. The USL could have postponed the final. I think they should have just postponed it. By this point I think fans, staff, and players have normalized games being delayed or postponed. Instead they decided to outright just end the season. This season will end with no champion. The league is exploring the possibility of the teams playing to start the 2021 season. Normally teams do not play games outside of their respective conferences until the final. What do you think? Do you think this was the right call?
