New crests for Phoenix Rising FC and the Tampa Bay Rowdies have been leaked. This comes only a few days after the USL Championship decided to cancel the final.
It looks like Phoenix and Tampa Bay will be modifying their crests to include stars to represent their respective easter and western conference titles. This is surprising as something like this is usually reserved for teams who win a championship. The addition of stars to a teams crest is normally used to remind fans that their team was good at some point in the past.
I was able to get a hold of these images as I was shown them by a former Reno 1868 FC employee (who I will not name). That person knows people from multiple teams including Phoenix Rising FC and the Tampa Bay Rowdies. That person actually know people from around the league. That person has actually been working in sports for over ten years. He has been working in soccer and within the USL since before Reno announced it was getting a team. That person might have connections with every front office in the league. Anyway that person was sent info that Phoenix and Tampa Bay were adding stars to their crests. They were sent images. They sent those images to me as they know I love graphic design and I am a fan of the USL.
I did some mock ups of what both crests might look like based on some of the information and images I was sent. From what I understand neither team has finalized anything yet.
