Reno Pond Hockey was coming off of a loss against the Tahoe Dawgs. Reno Pond Hockey was 3-3-0 heading into the game. Reno Pond Hockey sat in 5th in the standings. The Murder hornets came into this game after 4-5 loss to Q&D Construction. The Murder Hornets were in 4th place in the standings. Reno Pond Hockey faced the Murder Hornets back on July 21st. Reno Pond Hockey lost that game 4-8. The all time record between Reno Pond Hockey and the Murder Hornets heading into this game was 0-1-0.

Reno Pond hockey started off the scoring with a beautiful goal from #71 Dominic Hyer. The first period ended 1-1. The Murder Hornets got the only goal of the second period. Reno Pond Hockey was able to tie the game in the early stages the third period. That goal was scored by #8 Marty Harsin The Murder Hornets then scored three unanswered goals. Reno Pond hockey would get one back to end the game. #28 Zac Seidemann used the boards to get the puck to #71 Dominic Hyer who would then score the games final goal.

It was a back and forth game with teams trading chances. Majority of the game was within one goal or tied. Reno Pond Hockey had plenty of chances. Reno Pond Hockey kept giving up breakaways or odd man rushes witch didn’t help. There was only two or three players on the Murder Hornets who were winning the game for them. Reno Pond Hockey did play a lot better than their last game. Unfortunately sometimes a team can play well and still come up short.

With 4 games left to go in the season Reno Pond Hockey still has plenty of hockey left to fight for a playoff spot. In a 4 team playoff situation, Reno Pond Hockey would be out. Reno Pond Hockey still has a chance to get into a four team spot. In a 8 team playoff situation, Reno Pond Hockey would be in. With only 4 games left it will be a fight to get a playoff birth.
