Reno Pond Hockey took on Hyundai N-Line last night. It was game 8 for Reno Pond Hockey. There are now only 3 games left in the season for Reno Pond Hockey. The game took place on November 21, 2021 at 9:30PM at Reno Ice.

Reno Pond Hockey was coming off of a loss against the Murder Hornets. Reno Pond Hockey was 3-4-0 heading into the game. Reno Pond Hockey sat in 7th in the standings. Hyundai N-Line came into this game after 7-4 win against the Tahoe Dawgs. Hyundai N-Line were in 2nd place in the standings going 6-1-0. Reno Pond Hockey had not faced Hyundai N-Line before heading into this match.

Hyundai N-Line scored first. Reno Pond Hockey was able to tie the game. Hyundai N-Line took a 2-1 lead going into the second period. Reno Pond Hockey tied the game back up in the second with a tip from #24 Tyler Noblit. Hyundai N-Line had a 3-2 lead after two periods. #71 Dominic Hyer took over in the third. He scored to tie the game. Then Hyundai N-Line took the lead. Then #71 Dominic Hyer scored to tie the game. Then he got his fourth goal of the night to give Reno Pond Hockey the 5-4 lead with under two minutes to play. Hyundai N-Line would pull their goalie but it would not be enough. Reno Pond Hockey would get the win.

Reno Pond Hockey was disruptive. they were breaking up a lot of neutral zone and centering passes. #71 Dominic Hyer had an outstanding game. He was out there looking like Connor McDavid. He was turning on the jets. Winning races to the puck. He was beating defenders to the puck. He was skating right through defenders. He was just on fire. #35 Clint McCoy was on fire in the net two. He stopped plenty f chances. He stopped the puck on the line a few times. He kept Reno Pond Hockey in the game and gave them a fighting chance. Overall it was a solid team effort. Players were stepping up to make the big plays when they need too. Hopefully Reno Pond Hockey can continue to build on this for their final three games of the season.

Reno Pond Hockey is currently in a playoff spot. The race is close enough that one game could change that. Reno Pond Hockey will probably be fighting for a playoff spot up until the end of the regular season. If the playoffs started today Reno Pond Hockey would play the Slappy Gilmores for a chance to play Cruz Construction in the semi-finals.
