2022 AHL Concept

2023 AHL Outdoor Classic | AHL Concept Part Eleven

I am back with another American Hockey League event concept. This time it is the 2023 AHL Outdoor Classic. This event is the AHL’s equivalent to the NHL Winter Classic. For this concept the 2023 AHL Outdoor Classic is at Red Bull arena. The game is between the Utica Comets and the Syracuse Crunch. For this concept the game would have taken place on January 28th 2023.

The New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer inspired the colors and main logo. The logo is a shield with hockey sticks behind it. It has Outdoor Classic on it. In the middle is the stadium. Below the shield, it says New York. This is the second MLS stadium used in this concept.

The first logo is a U. That is the Utica Comets logo. It is inspired by one of their old logos. The second logo is an S. It is for the Syracuse Crunch. It is inspired by the S seen on their prim

For this event, the Utica Comets are the home team and the Syracuse Crunch is the away team. The Utica jersey is black, red, and tan. It has their outdoor classic logo on the front. Also on the front is their anniversary logo. On the shoulders are the event logo and the Utica Comets primary logo. The Syracuse jersey is white blue and silver. It has their outdoor classic logo on the front. On the shoulders are the event logo and the Syracuse Crunch primary logo. On both of the collars, it says AHL Outdoor Classic. The jerseys wen’t really inspired by anything either team has worn in the past. I wanted jerseys that looked like they were from the 40s/50s.

In this concept, Red Bull Arena in New Jersey is the location for the 2023 AHL Outdoor Classic. The 25,000-seat stadium is home to the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer. It is also home to the NY/NJ Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League. The venue and its teams are owned by Red Bull the energy drink. This would be the second AHL Outdoor classic for the Utica Comets. It would be the third for the Syracuse Crunch. This would be the second time these two teams met in the AHL Outdoor Classic. In real life there was an outdoor game between these two teams planned. The game was to beat the Griffiss Business & Technology Park in Rome, New York. Like the AHL All-Star Classic that game was delayed due to COVID. In real life it is unclear if that game will ever happen.
