I am back with another American Hockey League event concept. This time it is the AHL Stadium Series. For this concept, each division (North, International, World, West Coast) will get an outdoor game through the stadium series. For the first game in the AHL Stadium Series, the North Divisions Rocket Laval host the Grand Rapids Griffins. The game is at Stade Saputo in Montreal. For this concept, the game would be on February 4th, 2023.
The logo is a shield with the Montreal skyline, the event name, the hosting city, and the year. It has the AHL logo on it. The logo is the colors of the AHL. I gave it a chromed-out look. I think the chrome look will help establish the stadium series brand.
The first of the other two logos for this event replaces the Montreal skyline with the stadium logo. The other logo is a matchup logo. For the AHL Stadium Series, I wanted to add more event logos. This is the second outdoor game of the season for the Grand Rapids Griffins. Their other outdoor game was the Hockeytown Winterfest.
These are the team logos for the event. The Grand Rapids Griffins logo used in this event was used in 2010/11 on their alternate jersey. I saw it and thought it was perfect for a stadium series game. I honestly wouldn’t mind if they used it as their primary logo. The other Grand Rapids Griffins logo is a chrome version of a logo they used for a fan-designed jersey in 2018. The first Rocket Laval logo is a workmark logo. It is a chromed version of the team name from the primary logo. The other Rocket Laval logo is a chrome version of their primary logo.
The Rocket Laval jerseys are red, blue, and chrome. They have the chrome wordmark logo on the chest. On the shoulder is the chrome On the collar it says Laval. The Grand Rapids Griffins jersey is white, red, and chrome. On the front of the jersey is the 2010/11 alternate logo. On the shoulder is the chrome logo from the 2018 fan-designed jersey. On the collar it says Grand Rapids. Both jerseys have chrome numbers. Both jerseys have the event logo on their shoulders.
In this concept, the North Division AHL Stadium Series game is in Montreal at the 19,619-seat Stade Saputo. The stadium is home to CF Montreal of the MLS. This is the third MLS stadium to host an AHL outdoor game in this concept.
