I am back with the more team concepts for my FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Ice Hockey Concept series. It has been too long since I posted. The plan was to have Group G finished and I am only on Group C. In todays post I will be showing off the concepts for Group C. In my last post I showed off my concepts for Group B. Costa Rica, Japan, Spain, and Zambia make up Group C. Costa Rica has not had a hockey program since 2000. Japan’s women’s ice hockey team are ranked 7th in the world. Spain’s women’s ice hockey team are ranked 24th in the world. Zambia do not have an ice hockey program.
In Group C are Costa Rica, Japan, Spain, and Zambia. For this concept Costa Rica would have a league similar to the Costa Rican Women’s Premier Division. Japan has the Women’s Japan Ice Hockey League as well as other competitions. Spain has the Liga Nacional de Hockey Hielo Femenino. For this concept Zambia would have a league like the FAZ Women Super Division.
Costa Rica are sponsored by Adidas. Since the FIFA World Cup 2022 Costa Rica has switched from New Balance to Adidas. I recolored one of their logos to match the logo seen on the soccer jersey. Their colors are red, white, blue, and gold. The also added black for the FIFA Women’s World cup 2023. They have a red jersey and a white jersey. I added a diamond patter to the stripes on the sleeves of both of the jerseys that is inspired by the diamond shape seen on their red kit. On the collar is their flag.
For this concept Costa Rica would have a league similar to the Costa Rican Women’s Premier Division. Their season would be split into a fall and spring season. for the post season the top four teams play in a semifinal and final. The winners of both seasons play in another championship series.
Japan is sponsored by Adidas. Their colors are red, black, white, and gold. They also added pink and purple for the 2023 jerseys. I did modify their logo. I got rid of the JFA that is below the crow and I centered the crow. They have a blue and a purple jersey. Their blue jersey is the same one they wore for the FIFA World Cup 2022. Their purple jersey is purple and pink with a cloud like pattern. On the collar is their flag. Japan has the Women’s Japan Ice Hockey League. That league has been around since 2012. From what I can tell they have a similar season format to professional ice hockey in North America.
Spain are sponsored by Adidas. Their colors are red and gold. They did add blue and purple for their 2023 jerseys. I did not modify their logo but did recolor it to match thelogo seen on the white kit. They have a red and a white jersey. Their red jersey is the same as the one they used for the FIFA World Cup 2022. Their white jersey has a coral pattern on it. Both jersey have their flag on the collar. Spain has the Liga Nacional de Hockey Hielo Femenino. It looks like it has a similar format to North American pro hockey.
Zambia are sponsored KoPa. For this concept KoPa jersey are manufactured by Starter. I did modify their logo. I got rid of the soccer ball and added the colors of their flag. The Zambia colors are green, red, black, and yellow. They have a yellow jersey, a white jersey, and a green jersey. For their yellow and green jerseys I took the pattern seen on the front of their kit and put it on the sleeves. For this concept Zambia would have a women’s ice hockey league modeled after the FAZ Women Super Division. In this league there would be no post season. The winner of the regular season would win the league.
Here is what Group C looks like. The black costa Rica jerseys are my favorite. #1 ranked is Costa Rica. #2 ranked is Zambia. #3 ranked is Japan. #4 ranked is Spain.
