It’s October! That means Conceptober is back. During Conceptober people post daily art concepts. There are plenty of different prompts for Conceptober. I am following the prompts put out by Jersey Nerds. Their prompts center around hockey jersey concepts. I am getting a really late start here. I am ten days behind now. I will be trying to catch up quickly. The first prompt was to create a Retro Revival Jersey concept.
For Conceptober I will be using the wheel of names to select teams to do concepts for. Otherwise it would take me forever to come up with which team I want to do. This also forces me to think outside of the box. Having the teams picked for me forces me to be a little bit more creative. Most of the concepts will be for National Hockey League teams. The Dallas Stars won the wheel spin.
What is a Retro Revival Jersey? It was kind of left up to the interpretation of the artist. My thought was that it was a mix of the NHL Reverse Retro jerseys, throwback jersey, and teams modern identities. Basically a recolored throwback jersey with current colors and logos. My concept for the Dallas Stars Retro Revival Jersey is based on the Dallas Stars 1998-99 alternate jersey. That jersey became their away jersey and then their home jersey. The jersey did get a white version that was their home jersey and then away jersey. The brought the jersey back for the Dallas Stars 2021 Reverse Retro jersey. The jersey in this concept is black, green, and grey. I did use the green from the Dallas Stars current third jerseys. That green is brighter than their normal green. The jersey has a pattern that is designed after a star. On the front is the Dallas Stars primary logo. I did swap the green on the Dallas Stars primary logo for the lighter green. On the shoulder is the Dallas Stars Texas logo from their alternate jerseys.
