The Tahoe Knight Monsters forward Sloan Stanick has been named the ECHL rookie of the month. He is the ECHL rookie of the month for December 2024. Stanick helped the Knight Monsters get a record of 9-1-1 in December including an eight game winning streak witch is the longest winning streak in team history. The Knight Monsters are currently in seventh place in the ECHL, third place in the ECHL Western Conference, and second place ECHL Western Conference Mountain Division. In the In his first pro career at twenty one years old, Stanick has scored fourteen goals with twenty two assists totaling in thirty six points in thirty games with the Tahoe Knight Monsters. He is averaging 1.2 points per game. He is leading all ECHL rookies in goals scored and points. He is also in the top five in the ECHL for points. He has four penalty minutes and a +/- of +7. He has played two games this season in the AHL for the Henderson Silver Knights. He does not have any points in the AHL yet. He has four penalty minutes in the AHL with a +/- of -1. Stanick has done pretty well in Tahoe. He has had a lot of success in the first half of the season. The next step is to see how he finishes the season in Tahoe. He will likely get more chances to play with Henderson before the season is over. I think if he continues to play this way, he will either end up being more of a regular in Henderson by the end of this season or the start of next season. Either way as a rookie he will have plenty of opportunities to impress the Vegas Golden Knights organization which he might already be doing. This is the first award the Tahoe Knight Monsters have received from the ECHL as an organization.
