The Henderson Silver Knights are getting ready for their sixth season of American Hockey League action, and the team’s 2026-27 schedule was officially released on July 9, 2026. Henderson will play a 72-game regular-season schedule, with the season evenly divided between 36 home games and 36 road games. Before the regular season begins, the Silver Knights will also play two preseason games, with both games coming on back-to-back days on September 26 and September 27. The regular season will then run from October through April, giving Henderson another full season of AHL hockey as the organization continues to develop players within the Vegas Golden Knights system. The Silver Knights will open the 2026-27 regular season at home on Saturday, October 3, 2026, when they take on the Bakersfield Condors. Henderson will also close out the regular season at home, hosting the Calgary Wranglers on Saturday, April 10, 2027. After the regular season concludes, the focus will turn toward the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs, with Henderson looking to compete for a postseason spot and potentially make a run toward the Calder Cup.
The Silver Knights will have a fairly busy schedule throughout the 2026-27 season, with the heaviest portion of the schedule coming during the middle of the season. Henderson will play 10 games in October, including six home games and four road games. November will also feature 10 games, but the Silver Knights will have a more favorable home-road split with seven games at home and only three on the road. December will see Henderson play 11 games, with four home games and seven road games. January will be the busiest month of the season, with the Silver Knights scheduled to play 13 games. That includes four home games and nine road games, making January particularly demanding from a travel standpoint. The Silver Knights will play 11 games in February, including four home games and seven road games. March will feature 12 games, with seven home games and five road games. Henderson will then finish the regular season with five games in April, including four home games and one road game. That makes January the Silver Knights’ busiest month overall, while November features the most home games in a single month. January also features the most road games, with Henderson scheduled to play nine times away from home.
Travel will be an important part of Henderson’s 2026-27 schedule. The Silver Knights will have a longest road trip of five games, along with multiple four-game road trips throughout the season. The schedule will also feature several extended stretches at home, with the longest home stretches reaching five games. The Silver Knights are scheduled for five-game home stretches during the season, including stretches running from November 6 through November 18 and from March 9 through March 28. These stretches should give Henderson opportunities to spend extended periods at home while limiting some of the travel demands that come with playing in the AHL’s Pacific Division. Back-to-back games will also be a major part of the schedule. Henderson has 20 dates featuring back-to-back games, resulting in 40 games played as part of back-to-back sets. The Silver Knights will also face some opponents in consecutive games with a break between those matchups, creating additional opportunities for familiar opponents to see each other multiple times throughout the season. With the combination of long road trips, extended home stretches and numerous back-to-back games, the 2026-27 schedule should provide plenty of challenges for Henderson throughout the regular season.
The Silver Knights will face 11 different opponents during the 2026-27 regular season. Henderson’s schedule is heavily concentrated within the AHL Western Conference, particularly the Pacific Division. Henderson will play the Abbotsford Canucks, Bakersfield Condors, Calgary Wranglers, Coachella Valley Firebirds, Colorado Eagles, Iowa Wild, Ontario Reign, San Diego Gulls, San Jose Barracuda, Texas Stars and Tucson Roadrunners. The Silver Knights will play all of the teams in the AHL Western Conference Pacific Division, meaning their schedule will be heavily focused on divisional competition. Henderson will also play two teams from the AHL Western Conference Central Division: the Iowa Wild and Colorado Eagles. The Silver Knights will not play any teams from the AHL Eastern Conference during the 2026-27 regular season. Their opponents will therefore come exclusively from the Western Conference, with nine opponents coming from their own division and two coming from the Central Division. Henderson will play each opponent either four, six or eight times during the season. The Silver Knights can play each opponent up to four times at home and up to four times on the road, depending on the specific opponent and schedule rotation.
Because the AHL schedule does not require every team to play every other team during the regular season, Henderson will have several opponents that it will not face in 2026-27. The Silver Knights will not play the Belleville Senators, Charlotte Checkers, Chicago Wolves, Cleveland Monsters, Grand Rapids Griffins, Hamilton Hammers, Hartford Wolf Pack, Hershey Bears, Laval Rocket, Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Manitoba Moose, Milwaukee Admirals, Providence Bruins, Rochester Americans, Rockford IceHogs, Springfield Thunderbirds, Syracuse Crunch, Toronto Marlies, Utica Comets or Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Within the Western Conference Central Division, the Chicago Wolves and Grand Rapids Griffins are the only teams Henderson has never played. The Silver Knights also have not played any of the current AHL Eastern Conference teams. That means Henderson’s 2026-27 schedule will once again be heavily focused on the Western Conference, with the majority of the team’s games coming against familiar Pacific Division opponents.
One of the more interesting parts of the 2026-27 schedule for fans of the Vegas Golden Knights organization and Nevada hockey will be the possibility of an affiliate hat trick. An affiliate hat trick occurs when the Henderson Silver Knights, Vegas Golden Knights and Tahoe Knight Monsters all win on the same day. With all three teams playing throughout the same hockey season, these days provide a unique opportunity for fans of the broader Golden Knights hockey family to celebrate victories at multiple levels. For fans following hockey across Nevada, these dates will be worth keeping an eye on as the Golden Knights, Silver Knights, and Knight Monsters work through their respective schedules.
The 2027 American Hockey League All-Star Classic will take place on February 7 and 8, 2027. The event will be hosted by the Cleveland Monsters at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The All-Star Classic will provide a midseason showcase for some of the AHL’s top players while the Silver Knights and the rest of the league continue their push toward the final weeks of the regular season.
Once the regular season ends after April 11, 2027, the attention across the AHL will shift toward the Calder Cup Playoffs. A total of 23 teams will qualify for the Calder Cup Playoffs across the AHL’s four divisions. The playoff field will include seven teams from the Western Conference Pacific Division, five teams from the Western Conference Central Division, six teams from the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division and five teams from the Eastern Conference North Division. The playoff format will feature several different series lengths as teams advance through the postseason. The first round will be a best-of-three series, followed by the division semifinals and division finals, which will be best-of-five series. The conference finals will be best-of-seven, and the Calder Cup Finals will also be a best-of-seven series. For the Henderson Silver Knights, the first goal will be getting through the 72-game regular season and securing a place in that playoff field. From there, the format creates a long postseason road toward the Calder Cup.
With 72 regular-season games, 36 home games, 36 road games, 20 back-to-back dates and a schedule built almost entirely around Western Conference competition, the 2026-27 season should provide plenty of hockey for Silver Knights fans. Henderson will begin the season at home against Bakersfield on October 3 and finish the regular season at home against Calgary on April 10, setting the stage for another season of AHL hockey in Henderson and another opportunity for the Silver Knights to compete for a Calder Cup playoff spot.
