Super Bowl LVIII was played yesterday. The game was held between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Fransisco 49ers to determine a National Football League champion. I did an ice hockey crossover concept for Super Bowl LVII and I am back with another one for this years Super Bowl. This will be a lot like my 2024 CFP National Championship X Ice Hockey Concept. This years Super Bowl was held in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Golden Knights played in the 2024 Winter Classic earlier this year. Las Vegas has hosted outdoor hockey games before. The stadium in Las Vegas is indoors with a removable field. It would be possible to host hockey games at this years Super Bowl venue.
I kept the Super Bowl LVIII logo the same here as in real life. If this was a bigger concept I likely would have changed it to remove all of the football imagery. The Super Bowl LVIII logo is part of the contemporary style of Super Bowl logos going back to Super Bowl LVI. The main part of the logo is the trophy. Behind that are the roman numerals LVIII. Inside of the roman numerals are the Las Vegas Strip and the Iconic Las Vegas Sign. At the bottom of the logo is “Super Bowl”.
The team logos used in this concept are the same as they are in real life. The San Francisco 49ers colors are red, gold, black, and white. Their primary logo is an oval with an SF monogram. They also use a “49ers” wordmark logo in a western style font. The Kansas City Chiefs colors are red, yellow, black, and white. Their primary logo is a KC monogram inside of an arrow head. They have a chiefs wordmark logo that uses a bold font. They have an A logo with an eagle for the American Football League. Their team founder started the AFL. The Chiefs started to wear an “NKH” patch this season. That patch is in honor of Norma Knobel Hunt who was the team founders wife. She passed away in 2023.
The National Football League is sponsored by Nike. Nike provide all of the team uniforms for the league. For this season Nike changed the collars on the jerseys. This is the third jersey iteration from Nike since taking over the NFL. The nike template I used for this concept is a crossover of the Nike hockey jersey template (that I was using in other concepts) based on the 2021 Olympic hockey jerseys and the new Nike Vapor FUSE jerseys used in the NFL. These jersey concepts are based on their NFL jerseys.
The Kansas City Chiefs jersey is red, white, and yellow. It has the player numbers on the front. It also has the NKH logo on the front. On the right shoulder is the Super Bowl LVIII logo. On the left shoulder is their AFL logo. On the outside collar is the NFL logo. On the inside collar is the roman numerals for the past Super Bowls they won. There was criticism last year over having numbers on the front instead of a logo. The reason for that is because the Chiefs do not use a logo on the front of there jerseys. Some people do not like hockey jerseys with numbers on the front but it does give the jersey a classic look.
The San Francisco 49ers jersey is white and red. On the front is their wordmark logo. On the sleeves is the Super Bowl LVIII logo. On the front of the collar is the NFL logo. On the back of the collar are the roman numerals for all five of their super bowl wins. This jersey does not have any stripes on the front. It didn’t look good with a design on the bottom. The design on the sleeves draws a lot of attention. I was thinking of a single line at the bottom of the jersey but do not think that is realistic to how Nike creates hockey jerseys.
Super Bowl LVIII was hosted by the city of Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the first time Las Vegas has hosted the Super Bowl. The game was played at the 71,835 capacity Allegiant Stadium. Allegiant Stadium is home to the Las Vegas Raiders of the NFL and the UNLV Rebels of the NCAA. It has hosted international soccer matches, rugby matches, and march madness games. I think it would be a great venue for an outdoor hockey game.
