Objective
To create the St. Louis Lazer Snakes.
The Idea
Lazer Snakes was a suggested name for Saint Louis City SC. It was brought to my attention by a comment on reddit. I thought that it was too good of a name to pass on doing a concept for. So here we are. If you have not seen my Saint Louis City SC concept, you can check it out here.

For this concept I created a whole backstory for the club. I figured since this is a fictional team that I am creating I can do that.
1968 – St. Louis Snakes enter the North American Soccer League (NASL) as a founding team.
1970 – St. Louis Snakes rebrand and become the St. Louis Lazersankes while still playing in the NASL
1988 – After the NASL folded in 1985, the St. Louis Lazersnakes joined the American Soccer League (ASL) as a founding team.
1990 – After the ASL folded in 1989, the St. Louis Lazersnakes joined the American Professional Soccer League (APSL)
1995 – St. Louis was awarded an Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise. The franchise was majority owned by Bayer 04 Leverkusen of Germany. *This is similar to Chivas USA or New York Red Bull.
1996 – St. Louis Lazersnaken joined the MLS. They were given the nickname Bayer Lazersnaken.
2007 – St. Louis Lazersnaken rebranded to St. Louis Lazer Snakes after Bayer 04 Leverkusen pulled out of the ownership group
*I did not make the logo used for Lazer Snakes 2007. It was made by Saint Louis City SC.
2020 – St. Louis Lazer Snakes rebrand

My first idea was a snake with a sword. I didn’t want the logos to be round. I had the idea after I made the 1968 logo to have a snake wrap around a laser. When I designed the 2020 logo I wanted it to kind of be an homage to the fictional history of the team. The 2020 logo ended up being a modern version of the 1970 logo.
