In 2015 the Bakersfield Condors played the Stockton Heat in the first-ever Golden State Hockey Rush at Raley’s Field in Sacramento. I have thought that an outdoor AHL game in California should be an annual event. For my current AHL concept that is what I am in doing. In this concept the Golden State Hockey Rush is an annual outdoor hockey game played in the middle of December, in California with two Californian AHL teams at a location outside of both teams home towns. For the 2022 edition of the Golden State Hockey Rush, The Ontario Reign will play the San Diego Gulls at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.
The logo is based on the Los Angeles Football Club logo. Los Angeles Football Club is the primary team at the stadium. It has the LA skyline. It has the event name. It has the stadium logo.
The other logo I did for this event has both of the team logos. These logos replace the stadium logo.
I made an original jersey for the Ontario Reign. It is inspired by some of the LA Kings outdoor jerseys. On the front is the wordmark from their primary logo. Their primary logo is on the shoulder. The San Diego jersey is inspired by the San Diego Gulls International Hockey League jerseys. On the front is their wordmark logo. On the shoulder is their primary logo. Both jerseys would have the California flag on the back. I wanted both jerseys to match as they are for one event.
The Rink would be unique as it has the outline of the LA skyline on the ice. Banc of California Stadium is home to LAFC of Major League Soccer and Angel City FC of the National Women’s Soccer League. The 22,000-seat stadium was opened in 2018. It is partly owned by San Diego reporter Ron Burgundy (Will Farrell) himself.
