Next up in my American Hockey League concept series is the Chicago Wolves. They are the primary affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes. They play in the 16,692-seat Allstate Arena. Chicago has a population of 2.69 million. The Chicago Wolves entered the AHL in 2001 as one of the teams that came over after the IHL folded. The Chicago Wolves have been around since 1994.
For this concept, the Chicago Wolves play in the AHL’s World Division in the Eastern Conference. The other teams in the World Division are The Bridgeport Islanders, the Cleveland Monsters, the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Hershey Bears, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Utica Comets, and the Wilks-Berre/Scranton Penguins.
The Chicago Wolves were also in the AHL Outdoors NC State game.

The Chicago Wolves have a lot of logos for an AHL team. This is their primary logo. It is a wolf head in front of a hockey puck and stick.

The first three Chicago Wolves alternate logos are the wolf head from the primary logo in a circle. The fourth alternate logo is the wolf head from the primary logo. The last logo is a W with four stars above it. The W is for wolves and the stars are from the Chicago flag.

The Home jersey is burgundy, gold, black and white. On the front is the primary logo. On the shoulders are alternate circle logos. On the collar, it says ‘we are the wolves’. That is the team motto used on social media. The Away jersey is a white version of the home jersey. It has shoulders and different logos on the shoulders.
The Alternate jersey is grey, burgundy, and gold. It has an old Chicago Wolves wordmark logo on the front. On the shoulders is the alternate W logo.
The Retro jersey is inspired by the Home jersey worn by the Wolves during the 2003-04 season. It is black and gold. On the front is the primary logo. On the shoulders are alternate circle logos. On the collar it says ‘est 1994’ for the year the team was founded.
The City jersey is white, red, and blue. On the front is a wordmark logo inspired by their old alternate jersey. On the shoulders are a recolored version of the W logo and the Chicago flag. The jersey is inspired by the Chicago Flag. On the collar is the date Chicago was founded.
The Affiliate Remix jersey is black, green, and grey. On the front is the wolf head logo. On the shoulders are one of the wolf head circle logos and a recolored Carolina Hurricanes primary logo. The jersey is in the Wolves alternate colors. The jersey is inspired by the Hurricanes current away jersey. Hurricanes
The Chicago Wolves Outdoors jersey is black, red, and yellow. It was designed for the AHL Outdoors at NC State event. It has the wolf head logo on the front. It has the event logo on the shoulder. It has the event date on the collar.
The Wolves have three Heritage jerseys. The New Haven Beast (1997-99), the Lowell Lock Monsters (2001-06), and the Albany River Rats (2006-10). The Heritage jerseys are inspired by the Carolina Hurricanes former primary affiliates.
