Next up in my American Hockey League concept series is the Cleveland Monsters. They are the primary affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets. They play in the 18,926-capacity Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Cleveland has a population of 372,624. The Cleveland Monsters entered the AHL in 2007 as the Lake Erie Monsters.
For this concept, the Cleveland Monsters play in the AHL’s World Division in the Eastern Conference. The other teams in the World Division are The Bridgeport Islanders, the Chicago Wolves, the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Hershey Bears, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Utica Comets, and the Wilks-Berre/Scranton Penguins.
The Cleveland Monsters were also in the Cleveland Monsters Outdoor Classic this season.

The primary logo for the Cleveland monsters is a monster head sticking up out of water. Below that is the team name. Their second logo is the primary logo without the team name. Their third logo is a C with a hockey puck. The last logo here is their 15th anniversary logo. They did celebrate their 15th anniversary during the 2021-22 season. For this concept They would have celebrated it this season. They also have a wordmark logo that they use on their current dark jerseys but I did not use it for this concept. I did not come up with any of these logos.

The home jersey is wine, yellow, black, and white. On the front is their primary logo without the team name. The 15th logo is on the front too. On the shoulders is the C logo and the Columbus Blue Jackets primary logo. On the collar is the team name. The Away jersey is white, wine, yellow, and black. It has a close pattern to the home jersey with some subtle differences. On the front is the primary logo and 15th logo. On the shoulders is the C logo and the Columbus Blue Jackets primary logo. Like the home jersey, the collar has the team name.
The Alternate jersey is black, wine, and yellow. On the front is a wordmark logo that says Cleveland. On the shoulders are the Monsters and Blue Jackets primary logos. The collar has the team name.
The Retro jersey is inspired by the Home jersey worn by the Cleveland Crusaders of the World Hockey Association. The jersey is in the Monsters colors. On the front is a logo used by the Monsters for an event jersey. There are no logos on the shoulders. On the collar are the years the Cleveland Crusaders were around.
The City jersey is red, blue, and white. It is inspired by the Cleveland flag. On the front is the logo from the Cleveland Cavaliers City jerseys from the 2018-19 NBA season. The logo is based on a statue in Cleveland. On the shoulders are the logo for the city of Cleveland and the flag of Cleveland. On the collar is the year Cleveland was founded.
The Affiliate Remix jersey is wine, yellow, and black. It is based on the Columbus Blue Jackets away jersey. On the front is the C logo with a star added to the hockey puck. On the shoulder is a recolored Columbus Blue Jackets primary logo. On the collar is CBJ which is the Columbus Blue Jackets abbreviation. CBJ is also their official hashtag.
The Cleveland Monsters Outdoor jersey is blue, black, and wine. It is based on the Cleveland Barons NHL jersey from the 1970s. For more on that check out my Cleveland Monsters Outdoor Classic post.
The Monsters only have one Heritage jersey. The Springfield Falcons (2010-15). The Heritage jerseys are inspired by the Columbus Blue Jackets former primary affiliates.
