I’m here with Group B concepts for Qatar 2022. In my last post, I showed off my concepts for Group A. In my first post, I talked about the event itself. England, Iran, the United States, and Wales are in this group. England and Wales compete in the IIHF as Great Britain. They are ranked 18th and have the Elite Ice Hockey League. Iran is rated 56th in the IIHF and do not have a pro league. The United States is ranked 4th and is at the center of world hockey with the top level leagues in the world.
In this concept, the idea is that most countries would have hockey match their already existing soccer system if hockey is not already established in their county.
Group B is England, Iran, the United States, and Wales. All of these teams compete in the International Ice Hockey Federation. For this concept, England and Wales compete separately while both having teams in the Elite League. Nothing would change in the United States. Iran would model a hockey league after the Iranian football league system.
England is sponsored by Nike. Their colors are red, white, and blue. The only thing I did with their logo is recolor it to match their soccer jerseys. They have a red and white jersey. The red jersey is pretty basic. The white jersey has a gradient on the shoulders matching their soccer jerseys. On the collar is 1966 for their only world cup championship.
Iran is sponsored by Majid. Majid does not make hockey jerseys. For this concept, they would as an effort to work to not be overshadowed by bigger companies. Iran’s colors are red, white, and green. For their logo, I got rid of the soccer ball that was inside it. They have red and white jerseys. Both jerseys have a cheetah pattern.
The United States is sponsored by Nike. Their colors are red, white, and blue. The United States has a blue jersey and a white jersey. The blue jersey has a tie-dye pattern on it. I did my best to match that with the limited time I had. The white jersey looks a lot like the United States blue Olympic hockey jersey from 2014. I didn’t modify the logo.
Wales is sponsored by Adidas. Wales has red, white, and green colors. They have a red and white jersey. Both jerseys are different. The red jersey has a pattern that matches their soccer jersey. The white jersey has a pattern on the sleeves that matches the pattern on the collar of their soccer jersey. On the collar of both of these jerseys is the flag of wales. I did not modify their logo.
Here is what Group B looks like. The Wales red jersey is my favorite. #1 rank is wales. #2 rank is Iran. #3 rank is the United States. #4 rank is England.
The jersey matchups are based on Qatar 2022 kit matchup information from Footy Headlines. England will only wear their white jersey during the group stage. Iran will wear both of their jerseys. The United States will wear both of their jerseys. Wales will only wear their red jersey during the group stage.
